A British girl group in the spunky, photogenic vein of the Spice Girls and Girls Aloud, Parade made their live debut in late 2010, when the group performed at a London charity function before landing an opening spot on Shakira’s U.K. tour. Not all of the girls were newcomers; Emily Biggs had launched her career as a member of Hope, a pop group that competed during the fourth season of The X Factor, and Sian Charlesworth charted a minor U.K. hit with her own group, City Girls. Rounded out by Lauren Deegan, Bianca Claxton, and Jessica Agombar, Parade landed more high-profile performances in early 2011 -- including opening slots for tours by Alexandra Burke, Ellie Goulding, and Shayne Ward -- and released a debut single, “Louder,” in March. The song debuted in the Top Ten, paving the way for another U.K. hit, “Perfume,” which cracked the Top 40 three months later. ~ Andrew Leahey, Rovi
