Pasquale Stafano

An Italian pianist and composer with "an incisive, unashamedly European, precise and emotion-creating pianism" (Musica Jazz IT), Pasquale Stafano is a leading voice in modern jazz, celebrated for his versatility and melodic depth.

He recorded seven albums as a leader; the last one, titled Sparks is released on the prestigious German label Enja Records, explores the soundscapes of contemporary European jazz. With captivating melodies and a powerful interplay between piano, bass, and drums, the music resonates with the introspective and cinematic tradition pioneered by iconic groups like the Avishai Cohen and Esbjörn Svensson Trio (E.S.T.). Alongside his trio work, Stafano is renowned for his stunning duo with bandoneonist Gianni Iorio, where they weave together the soul of Tango Nuevo and the sophistication of contemporary and modern jazz.

Stafano's global recognition as a composer was cemented when his composition Milonguita was arranged and recorded by the legendary Die 12 Cellisten der Berliner Philharmoniker
