Paula Tape is a Chilean DJ, producer, and multifaceted artist known for her eclectic approach to music and her deep knowledge of Balearic sounds. She has mastered the art of captivating dance floors worldwide with her distinct style and extensive sets that seamlessly blend underground floor-fillers with indefinable synth house sounds. Beyond her career as a DJ, Paula is committed to a broader artistic journey, putting the same passion into her music production as she does in her DJ sets. She continually evolves her craft, driven by a lifelong love for music and a relentless pursuit of her artistic inner self. Paula’s music is characterized by her aversion to labels, allowing her to freely experiment with different styles and genres.
Born and raised in Santiago de Chile, Paula began her musical journey playing drums in various indie bands, which sparked her inclination toward polyrhythmic patterns. This percussive foundation is a distinct element in her own productions and remixes, and it plays a key role in her DJ sets around the globe. Her debut EP, "Agua Congas" on SOBO, gained significant support from key selectors, helping to establish her unique sound. She has since released music on esteemed labels such as Rhythm Section, Permanent Vacation, Ransom Note, Planet Trip, and Alzaya. In 2021, Paula became part of the Rhythm Section family with her track "Panamericana", followed by her full 4-track EP titled "Astroturismo."
