In the early 90s electronic music grabbed hold of Phonk D. After many nights at clubs in Frankfurt, hundreds of kilograms of collected vinyls, countless DJ-gigs and a remarkable journey into Hip Hop as a producer, the Darmstadt resident founded his label Footjob in 2014 as an outlet for true school house. Ranging from disco influences and sampling techniques to classic deep house, it has all bases covered.
With over 30 releases by a recurring string of artists and focussed on the tastes and productions of the label owner himself, it’s among the most reliable sources for that vintage and dry-aged dance sound. That didn’t go unnoticed by labels like Glitterbox, Exploited, Future Disco or Shall Not Fade or even Salsoul records that all featured the production talents of Phonk D.
The same holds true for his DJ entity. Representing all these values and experience, it’s impossible to not be enamored by his presence in the DJ booth.
