Polvö is a collective of musicians from the regions of Porto Alegre and Salvador (Brazil). The group experiments with different textures and atmospheres, mixing more traditional post-rock elements with sound collages, soundtrack-inspired pieces, cut-outs of urban sounds, and audiovisual motifs.
The first Polvö EP came out on December 16. Unlike their former releases, the compositions of this EP display a wider influence of noise, stoner, and electroacoustic music, and the guitars give way to synthesizers and samples of human and non-human voices. The songs mix recorded bits registered before and during the quarantine months, a motif that guides the central concept of the two tracks of the EP: a daytime phase and a nighttime phase of life in isolation, both of them permeated by contradictions and anguishes that define the now and that draw the line of the after.
