The Polynesian Cultural Center is a unique treasure created to support education by sharing with the world the cultures, diversity, and spirit of the nations of Polynesia.
The #1 attraction in Hawai`i, according to USA Today, is a popular destination between tourists and locals alike—and for good reason. With Brigham Young University-Hawai`i students, many of which hail directly from the countries represented at the Center, and community members who grew up loving and learning about various Pacific Island cultures, the Center has an authenticity that provides a richer, more personalized experience.
The Center has unique experiences that no other attraction offers. It is home to Huki: A Canoe Celebration, the only dance and musical presentation in all of Hawai`i performed on water. It is a story of Polynesian legends, the history of La`ie, and how we are all one Ohana. Then there is the famous night show, HA: Breath of Life, which is a symbolic story of Mana and his beloved Lani, punctuated by Polynesian dance, music and blazing fireknives, special effects, animation and surround sound. It is a Pacific isle saga of birth and death, love and family, tragedy and triumph.
Pulling from both classic and original music written and composed by Polynesian musicians, the Center’s productions blend old and new music to create experiences that will keep your heart in Polynesia.
