Portraits in Jazz is a collaboration between four star musicians on the Danish jazz scene.The founder <a href="spotify:artist:3dz5vxw8WxPgcbD2HIVN5D" data-name="Claus Waidtløw">Claus Waidtløw</a> is one of the leading tenor saxophone players in Denmark. His big and beautiful sound combined with his lyrical approach to playing has given Waidtløw many fans all over the world.
<a href="spotify:artist:3j1aerNPNVeAjD4GgI3xJQ" data-name="Nikolaj Hess">Nikolaj Hess</a> is one of the top pianists in Denmark, highly praised for his delicate playing. “... Hess is one of the most inventive jazz pianists working today” (Mitch Myers, Magnet Magazine).
Anders Christensen is a bass gigant, not only in Denmark but all over the world. Besides playing in the late Paul Motians Electric Bebop band, “AC” also played with the famous rock group The Raveonettes.
Jakob Høyer is highly respected for his unique playing. He is working in both the jazz and the rock fields and like “AC”, Jakob was a member of The Raveonettes.
Sunday (from 2021) has gained more than 17 million streams on Spotify alone, which is somewhat remarkable for an instrumental jazzalbum.
Their second album, Monday, is to be released November 4. 2022.
