Posh is a UK-based rapper and singer/songwriter from West London. A self-described “22nd-century rapper”, Posh says his music is for “the people like me who fit into everywhere and nowhere at the same time.” The son of a Russian immigrant and an English mother, he grew up in a house that celebrated all types of music. The soundtrack of his childhood often featured British rock legends and 80’s pop icons. He credits these influences to the eclectic feel of his work and draws inspiration from multi-hyphenated artists. It’s because of this that he finds it hard to restrict his artistry to one particular genre. Posh’s music often combines elements of the feel-good aesthetic of pop, the melancholic angst of metal, and the raw lyricism of hip-hop.


For Posh, music is all about perspective. Even his name is a product of the frustration he faced growing up. “I basically spent my whole life with people thinking I had something I didn’t, because of the way that I speak.” It’s this discomfort that inspired Posh to pursue his career in music, which embraces that feeling of living between two different worlds, and grappling with the dissonance between his reality and other people’s assumptions. This plagued the artist for years, making him doubt his place in the industry, but, eventually, his passion outweighed his fears and Posh turned his insecurities into fuel.
