Protassov´s Stefan Fuß is a musician based in Hamburg.
He began his Musical journey as a singer and guitarist in the late 80ies in several bands, playing Club concerts in the Ruhr Area DIY /Hardcore scene.
In 1992 he joined the myth enshrouded Techno Band TEVO and played countless gigs all over europe. When the band Split up, Stefan concentrated on his Solo Project „Protassov“
He released his album debut „Shalina Music“ on Switchstance Recordings, followed by 4 EP´s and several Singles.
No Regrets:
Protassov has travelled many journeys—sonic and otherworldly alike. Some of these journeys were triggered by pieces of silent paper, others announced by his music. Whether pushed forward by straight beats or carried by the bumpy rhythm of a Czech city train, they were almost always shining at bombastically more.
His new piece gently looks backwards to some of his early travel companions as if he wishes to take past-time divisions of joy onto a more confidently relaxed Hollywood swing seat. Like a tour guide turned into a sober ghost rider he provides meta-switches and slippery reverse-tracks side by side with drum breaks, tender synth-bells and sudden guitar riffs so that deserts of silence are crossed in just seconds and oceans of images opened for short glimpses only. However, voices from the off remind us that enough was never enough, and that shrill excitement can make us shudder.
