Pulo NDJ is inspired by N'Djamena and Chadian diversity to demonstrate how the rich heritage of the country and the region fit into global musical conversations combining tradition and modernity. In May 2018, New York based DJ and producer Nickodemus accepted an invitation from HAPE Collective - a platform that promotes barrier-breaking musical encounters - to visit N'Djamena. During this week of meetings and conversations, the idea of a first album became a reality...
Desert to Douala, the debut album, was released in March 2019 on the New York label Wonderwheel Recodings. It includes 11 tracks, written and recorded in a pop-up studio in N’Djamena, and reflects the variety of his members, from nomad tribe descendant Idriss, to Samy and Wahlid's Cameroonian swag, from Stingo’s voodoo influences, to Simbo’s electro touch.

Pulo NDJ embraced the first African tour in October-November 2019, performing in Rwanda, Chad, Burkina Faso and Cote d’Ivoire. In March 2020, the group started a second African tour that began in Nigeria. Unfortunately the tour ended due to the pandemic. Since then, the group is still scattered over three countries in the continent.
