100% independent since day one and formed by singer, songwriter, writer, and producer Philippe Deschemin, Pure Obsessions & Red Nights stands at the forefront of today’s darkwave and industrial scene with the recent Night Trilogy— Let Your Obsessions Run Wild, Heirs of the Red Nights, and Nightbreed . A synth-driven, cinematic journey built on vintage 80s gear and spectral atmospheres, it marks the return of their iconic character Mr. Strangler as a ghostly guide wandering through the night.

Before this chapter, the project gained international recognition with the Mr. Strangler Trilogy, a conceptual work blending industrial rock, gothic metal, and literature: The Ogre Inside – Act I, The Darkest of Human Desires – Act II, and No Monsters in God’s Eyes – Act III, the rise and fall of a serial killer. The universe expanded further with We Are the Stranglings, mixed by Chris Vrenna (Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson), portraying the cult devoted to Mr. Strangler.

Over two decades, Deschemin has shaped a signature sound merging Darkwave, Alt-Rock/Gothic, and Industrial Rock. Live, the band has performed alongside Christian Death, Front Line Assembly, OOMPH!, Murderdolls, CKY, …, and has been remixed by Sidewalks & Skeletons, Combichrist, Priest, The Anix, Stabbing Westward...

Pure Obsessions & Red Nights is underground in the purest sense: uncompromising, self-made, and followed by listeners who value truth over trends.
