Radio Supernova came into being in 2017 through love towards a monolithic guitar wall of sound and sonic textures that reach out to the stars. The band describes their music as “Mansegaze”, paying homage to the 90s shoegaze-movement and the colloquial name of their hometown, Tampere.

Radio Supernova has released two full-length albums thus far. Their debut album Tähtiin was released in 2019, whereas their second album Takaisin was released in 2021. Both albums were released by the Tampere-based label Soit Se Silti. The albums have also attracted notable attention outside of Finland.

The music of Radio Supernova has developed from the warm dream pop sounds of Tähtiin towards the cold and frigid post-punk soundscapes of Takaisin. However, both albums share the trademark Radio Supernova sound that combines a massive wall of sound with infectious pop melodies.

The third Radio Supernova album, Paratiisi, was released on the 3rd of March, 2023. On their third album, Radio Supernova have honed their Mansegaze sound into its purest, most solid form thus far. The album combines multiple influences into a package which is extremely catchy, but at the same time completely pertaining to its own Mansegaze universe.
