Ranu Pani is a psychedelic-pop duo from Jakarta, Indonesia, consisting of Upi Maajid and Adhika Rudi Prabowo. Blending retro sensibilities with lush, dynamic compositions, Ranu Pani crafts a distinctive soundscape rooted in nostalgia yet forward-looking in execution.
Their journey began with the debut EP "Keberangkatan" (2018), released via Ivy League Music—the independent label founded by Mondo Gascaro. The release drew wide attention across Indonesia’s music scene, with its standout track “Pitaloka” featured on Musik Jakarta, a compilation curated by Felix Dass and John Navid of White Shoes & The Couples Company.
Continuing their exploration, Ranu Pani unveiled new dimensions of their sound in 2021 through singles like “Maha Sutradara” and “Harusnya Aku Yang Menyanyikan Ini”—the latter appearing on Pop diKota (SRM 10th Anniversary) to commemorate SRM Bands & Services’ decade-long journey. Each release reflected the duo’s evolving approach to storytelling through sound.
That evolution culminates in 2023 with their debut full-length conceptual album "Inklusi"—a bold artistic statement and an eclectic voyage through emotion and imagination. Anchored in psychedelic-pop and 70s pop/prog, Inklusi expands into a rich palette of global influences: bossa nova, soul, funk, jazz, hip-hop, electronic, shoegaze, rocksteady, and progressive rock. The album unfolds as a continuous narrative—a sonic expedition through human experience, best enjoyed in sequence from beginning to end.
