Rasha Nahas is a Palestinian singer, composer, actress, and multi-instrumentalist whose maverick sound defies genre. Rooted in classical guitar training and forged in Haifa’s Palestinian underground scene, her work blends the raw pulse of electric rock with the lyricism of folk, poetry, and trans-traditional influences.
Her debut album Desert (2021) traced her migration to Berlin, while her groundbreaking two-chapter follow-up Amrat (2023) explored the tension between urban life and rural memory. Recorded in the Occupied Golan Heights and released on Cooking Vinyl (UK), Amrat united leading voices from Palestine’s indie scene and carried her to major international stages: from Glastonbury and WOMEX to the Berlin International Film Festival, alongside tours across South America, North Africa, Europe, the U.S., and West Asia.
Looking ahead, Nahas is preparing her most ambitious album yet, slated for 2026, along with roles in several upcoming films set for release the same year.
Beyond her interlingual albums, she composes for film, series, theater, and dance, expanding her reach across artistic disciplines. In 2024, she appeared in Season 2 of We Are Lady Parts and became one of the first recipients of the Bertha Foundation Artivism Award, affirming her position not only as an artist, but as a voice of cultural resistance and innovation.
