Shariff Perry who goes by “Reef Royalz”, was born April 7th, the third of nine children. The native of Philadelphia, Taylor and Cambria to be exact, grew up with dreams of playing basketball. Inspired by his older sister that always rapped, he turned to music as a stress reliever in 2011 at the age of 20. Never viewing music as a career path, but inevitable because it surrounded him. The artist decided to actually reflect on his ability, and take music more serious. In 2012 after shooting his first video for the song “Hood Nigga” a fan base irrupted, and the start to his rap career began. 2015 he dropped his first mixtape titled, “Street Royalty”, he dedicated 30 days in a row to successfully complete it. Audiomack, Soundcloud, and Datpiff were all platforms that the young artist put to use. It was evident a bigger move needed to be put in motion. Staying motivated the artist in his own words stated, “I made it my lifestyle.” Driven by his audiences’ reactions, in a time span of 6 months he released a second mixtape, “Street Royalty 2.” Improvement was conspicuous setting Philadelphia streets on fire. The artist was labeled as 1 of the hottest young artist in Philadelphia during that time period. Dropping 3 extended plays within the duration of 3 years to maintain his relevancy, he successfully completed his third mixtape, “Trapmentality”. Fans labeled it a classic.
