Born and raised in Goa when it was still an untouched coastal paradise, Remo grew up playing guitar, immersed in Portuguese and Goan music and The Beatles. Visiting hippies introduced him to the “weird and wonderful sounds” of YMO, Kraftwerk and Ultravox. He went on to study architecture in Bombay, play with cult band The Savages, and hitchhike through Europe and North Africa, busking on the streets. Back in India, he began his soaring music career, becoming India’s highest-selling rock musician, producing Hindi pop and Hindi film music hits, being awarded the Padmashri – one of India’s highest awards – and performing with Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin, Queen and more recently writing a rock opus about Mother Teresa.
