Riley Buck

A native of Springfield, a quiet town outside of Nashville, TN, Riley started songwriting the summer after her senior year of high school. Coming from a musical family, she remembers frequently attending karoke and listening to her mother lead Sunday morning worship. Getting into artists like Sheryl Crow and Alanis Morissette is initially what inspired her to write her own music. Always being captivated by their rawness and style, she was drawn to the way these female songwriters were paving their way in music that wasn’t always traditional. 


Riley Buck generates an intimate and emotive sound. Her impassioned lyrics explore a range of coming of age topics sprinkled with hints of vulnerable innocence. Accompanying her airy vocals with her guitar, she creates a comforting ambiance. She was enthralled by the sounds of older bands such as The Beatles, The Shirelles, and The Turtles, so much so that she went through a two year phase of almost only listening to older music. Drawing from more contemporary sounds such as Phoebe Bridgers and Clairo, her songwriting style is influenced widely by the luminous mix of eerie tones and dreamy pop vibes. Though her music is typically shaped by her love for acoustic sound, she does not shy away from the possibility of utilizing synths and other instruments in producing.
