Rivery is something as uncommon as four musicians whom are also songwriters and producers in their own right. Between them they cover vast musical territories: blues, folk, mainstream pop, orchestral, punk rock, 80’s pop and even opera flavoured rock music. Rivery is the meeting of four free flowing bodies of water, merging as one, reaching for the ocean.
Matilda (Mattis) Årestad first met Per Lindmark 10 years ago when she played her music in a cabaret dressed as a ghost. Per was totally mesmerized by her tender voice and without knowing who was behind that ghostsuit he wrote his email adress on a note, handed it over and said ”We have to make music together!”
A little bit earlier, back in the year of 2001 Marcus Alm Ekblad met Anders Hallbäck, when he crashed Anders birthday party. But it took ten more years before the two became good friends and started writing music together. This collaboration brought some great results, but it wasn’t until Anders suggested to let Per join one of their sessions that they gained momentum. The three wrote a duet together but they needed a female voice for the second part and that’s when Per remembered the girl in the ghostsuit. He phoned her up and she gladly skipped school that same afternoon to come sing in the studio. When the three of them heard Mattis voice on the track they were gobsmacked! Needless to say, there were definitely magic in the room and this became the birth of Rivery...
