ROG3R (Rogier Schneemann) is a Dutch recording artist, musician, songwriter and record producer.
After starting playing piano as a kid, he soon picked up the guitar, feeling it had more expressive qualities. After high school he studied Architecture, after which he went on to study Jazz Performance at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague.
During his studies, he founded the group Azure together with three other musicians. The group soon started performing throughout the Netherlands, playing all major clubs and festivals. They self-released the album ‘When She Smiles’ in 2009. Azure performed a three-week concert tour in Brasil and Argentina in 2009.
Azure was renamed to Azure Hiptronics in 2013 after a line-up change. Moving to a more electronic and funky sound, they released the album ‘Hiptronics’ in 2014. A single from the album, ‘Ocean’s Edge’, received regular airplay from Dutch radio stations and featured an animated music video. The group performed at SXSW in Austin, Texas in March 2016. Later that year, the album ‘Ignacio’ was released. The group finally disbanded in 2018, after having performed more than 150 live concerts during its existence.
Under the name ROG3R, Schneemann started producing pop music, collaborating with songwriter and vocalist (Benjamin) Samama as well as artist/songwriter Teresa Wagner. ROG3R's first singles 'Classy' and 'Broke' (both feat. Samama)' were released beginning of 2021. 'Easy', also with Samama, is set for release on 8 June 2021.
