ROUMEX was founded at the beginning of 2017 and unites the genres of Melodic Techno and Cinematic Music. The integration of orchestral instruments is a crucial element of their live show. The hybrid DJ-Sets are as consistent as they are diverse, constantly keeping energy levels and tensions high while shifting between Techno, emotions and deeper, introspective moods. Before their paths crossed, Johannes and Phillipp already gained experience in different music projects. With a heavy emphasis on incorporating and drawing inspiration from the classical world the duo has supported a range of international artists such Innellea, Bart Skils, Reinier Zonneveld, Pete Tong, Tube & Berger, Einmusik, Felix Kröcher, Moonwalk and many more. In 2018, Roumex released their debut EP ’’Tantalis’’ on Kittball Records. The main title made it into the Beatport Top 15 (genre “Melodic House & Techno”) and was honorably mentioned by BBC Radio One host Pete Tong in his “New Names Mix 2018”. The journey was followed by releases on labels like Ritter Butzke, Heinz Music and Somatic resulting into further top 50 Beatport placements and a rising awareness on Spotify with half a million views for the last current remix.
