Born on July 22, in Butembo, into a Christian family, I was blessed to be their second daughter. From my earliest childhood, I sang in church alongside my older sister. In 2015, I decided to launch my solo career, despite the challenges ahead. Music was my passion, my way to de-stress and escape. I dreamed of becoming a big star, and it was this ambition that drove me to persevere.
I was inspired by my older sister's courage and love of music. In a war zone, making music isn't easy, as freedom of expression is limited and songs often focus on the war. As a woman, the challenges are even greater in the music industry, but I refuse to give up.
Based in Goma, where I grew up and where I continue to make music. My name is SAFI SIVAN, and despite the obstacles, I am determined to make my voice heard and achieve my dreams in the music industry.
