Sakawa Boys are a group of friends who make music together, personally preferring themselves since 2013.
Their music seeks to combine the power and intensity of Post-Punk, the melodic sensibilities of indie and pop, the relentless rhythm and physicality of krautrock, and the cavernous emotional ambience of shoegaze, all whilst juggling day jobs, other musical endeavours, fur babies, and laaities.
Their debut album, 2014 Anxiety was a statement piece. A public navigation of ego and self, seeking to lay bare the joys and pitfalls of intimacy and close friendship.
After an extended hiatus and various relocations, the band are set to return soon with a new batch of songs and the benefit of hindsight. Make no mistake however, the ferocity of the work and the rawness and intensity remain undimmed.
