Ethiopian pianist Samuel Yirga mixes African music with a forward-thinking jazz sound. A native of Addis Ababa, Yirga studied music before signing with <a href="spotify:artist:7C4sUpWGlTy7IANjruj02I">Peter Gabriel</a>'s <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Real+World+Records%22">Real World Records</a>. Besides touring with his own band, Yirga is also member of the Ethiopian jazz collective <a href="spotify:artist:0kkJ6OXGsnN2A0jTCo0tjz">Dub Colossus</a>. He released his debut solo piano album, Hagere, in 2011. In 2012, Yirga returned with his sophomore release, Guzo.
