With his instantly recognizable voice and stunning musical versatility, Sangeeth Wijesuriya has become one of the most influential figures in modern Sri Lankan music. Since winning first place in a national singing competition and launching his first electronic band Sa Ni Dha Pa, his rise to fame was inevitable. Over the years, he has earned a place among Sri Lanka’s most iconic singers while also excelling as a music director, entertainer, and actor. Inspired by Sri Lankan folk traditions as well as Indian and Western classical music, his work blends authenticity with innovation, creating songs that uplift and inspire. In 2012, he founded his band WAYO, which he continues to lead with vision, humility, and mentorship, taking it to new heights in the Sri Lankan music scene. Known for his charisma on stage and simplicity in life, Sangeeth also practices martial arts such as Tai Chi and Xing Yi, bringing discipline and balance to his artistry. Beyond singing, he is an exceptional Classical and Flamenco guitarist, achieving the prestigious Grade 8 Trinity Guildhall certification, setting the bar for others to follow.
