Sasha Laine

Amana was born on Aug 16th, 1988. She had a passion for music at a very early age. She recalls her first memory of falling in love with music hearing Whitney Houston ’I will always love you’ on the radio. She was six at the time but she knew in that moment she wanted to sing. Amana began studying music from all the great legends like Aaliyah, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, SWV, Lauryn Hill, Celion Dion,Tamia, and many more. She was most drawn to R&B/Soul, but appreciated all good music. She had her first record contract offer at 14 but declined it. She traveled and worked on music in LA, NYC, & ATL, and of course her home Toronto.

In 2018 Amana released her first solo single titled 'Running Away' under her former name Sasha Laine. Her fans revere her sound as an old school R&B mixed with a modern R&B sound.

Since her first single was well received she released two projects independently. 'Now Or Never'(2022) and ‘All Or Nothing’(2023).

Her aim was to make timeless music from the heart. “My biggest inspiration was Tupac. He really showed me what it mean’t to have heart. I’ve had a lot of ups and downs in my life and I wanted my music to be real and relate to the people. Music saved me when I was a teen so I knew I couldn’t give up no matter how hard the road got.”

Amana was destined to leave her mark in the world.
