Scott Nygaard has had a 30+ year career in the acoustic music world—not only as a performer (touring and/or recording with the likes of Chris Thile, Jerry Douglas, Joan Baez, Darol Anger, Tim O’Brien, Anonymous 4, and many others; releasing two instrumental recordings for Rounder Records in the 1990s, as well as multiple self-released albums and recordings as a member of Tim O’Brien’s and Darol Anger’s bands for Compass Records and Sugar Hill Records), but also as editor of Acoustic Guitar magazine and co-founder of the online roots music instruction site PegheadNation.com (which will receive a Distinguished Achievement Award from the International Bluegrass Music Association in September). Downbeat magazine has called him “a phenomenally talented stylist.”
