Singer-songwriter Season Chu incorporates various influences such as electronica and post-rock into her folky songwriting. But despite combining different timbres in a usually acoustic genre, she grounds her songs with vulnerable and introspective lyrics, delivering a peek into her most intimate thoughts.
Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Season Chu started out as a songwriter for other artists before releasing music under her own name in 2017. Season’s notable previous works include two songs written for popular SING! CHINA contestant from Malaysia, Tan Yin Ern, released in 2018 as part of her EP.
Over the next two years, Season’s sound evolved progressively into a more synth-based and ambient production, in part due to her collaboration with producers from different genre. Her latest EP “我在最好的年华找到你” is an attempt to capture the different intersecting musical strands in her progression as a songwriter.
