Chilean folk-rock band Sexual Democracia was formed in 1988 while its members were studying at the Austral University in the southern city of Valdivia. That year, the band recorded a demo called Los Chicos Buenos, followed by El Eslabón Perdido, both considered collector's items since their songs weren't subsequently released. After signing up to Alerce, Sexual Democracia issued its first album, called Buscando Chilenos 1, soon after successfully performing at Viña del Mar's Festival. In 1992, Buscando Chilenos 2 achieved platinum status in Chile, while the band was touring all around the country. A year later Sudamerica Suda came out, moving the group beyond Chilean frontiers to promote its music, playing along with Caifanes in Mexico. ~ Drago Bonacich, Rovi
