Shaikhspeare aka Shaikh The Don is an influential rapper-songwriter based out of Mumbai, India. Being a street poet, Shaikhspeare is best known for his hardcore & conscious rap songs. Just like his pen name, his pen game also stands out as he uses hard hitting punchlines & quotables in every single song he writes.
Born & raised in Bihar, he migrated to Mumbai in 2007, where he started out as a rapper after being inspired by Tupac's music and life. Eversince then, he has been an integral part of Mumbai's thriving Underground Hiphop scene, making him one of the first generation rappers and OGs.
Being a renowned battle rapper in his early days, Shaikhspeare has won multiple rap battles as well. Using his influnece in the scene, he founded a Hiphop Collective named Bombay Lokal to push hiphop culture in his locality & beyond.
His music, appearance in Bollywood movie Gully Boy & rap in BBC Asian Network Cypher has earned him accolades from Industry veterans like Manj Musik, Bobby Friction, Raftaar & more.
His discography speaks volumes of his lyricism and musicality as a rap artist and song-writer. His collaborative tracks Shankara, Godfather, Galat Launde, Shaikh Them Pt. 1 album (with Global Desi & King-Don) & Mood Swings EP (with sing-rap songs like Berukhi & Khwahishein) are featured on major playlists on spotify.
He is currently working on his second album & is geared to present his new music to the core hip-hop listeners.
