Biography
Sherif Omeri was born in 1987 in Qamishli, West Kurdistan. He has completed Sociology from the University of Aleppo. In 2004 he started his music career he participated in Superstar Music Challenge in Afrin and won first place. He released his first song in 2006 titled “AZADI”. He became a well-known artist with a range of songs including Reggae, Hip Hop, Pop, Dance and Metallica.
Sherif Omeri is recognized as the first rapper in West Kurdistan and sings his songs in Kurmanji dialect. With his interesting lyrics he describes the daily issues of people in Western Kurdistan. One can only say that Sherif Omeri has become the voice of the youth of the western revolution in Kurdistan because of his heartfelt and authentic voice that gives a unique effect to the audience and expresses the problems, hopes and desires of the western youth in an unbiased manner.
