Since it’s first iteration in 2013, Shoecraft has drawn inspiration from the luminaries of their tradition (favorites include The Innocence Mission, Sufjan Stevens and Andy Hull) to stitch together their own distinct flavor of singer-songwriter music.
Their 2016 album The Whisper II, namely “Cheeks”, drew attention from the BBC and received radio play from international stations. Their subsequent releases The Great Regulator (Antifragile Records, 2021) and unforgetting (self-released, 2024) have served as a ledger of sorts - documenting the ways Shoecraft has maintained their love for minimalist DIY recording, and have also learned to build whole worlds with layers of electric guitars and thrashing, driving drum parts.
Their 2025 release, Decision Fatigue is emotionally and rhythmically varied song to song. It is dense with stories of anxiety and release, colored by moments of both fragile nylon guitar, and avalanches of reverb-laden electric instruments.
