Silences was the music project of Conchúr White. From the small but noteworthy Portadown in Northern Ireland, Conchúr's writing had been described as incredibly inventive and beautifully understated. Joined by his cousin Breandán and school friends Christopher Harbinson, Jonathan Downing and Michael Keyes, Silences released three critically acclaimed EPs and played at various festivals such as SXSW, Electric Picnic and Glastonbury. Lending influence from Death Cab For Cutie, Leonard Cohen and Jeff Buckley, their music was consistently credited for its development and progression. Silences received support from the likes of Annie Mac (BBC Radio One), Tom Ravenscroft (6 Music), John Kennedy (Radio X), Charlie Ashcroft (Amazing Radio) Michele Myers (KEXP) and Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol. The group went on hiatus in 2018 to begin working on separate projects.
