Field Division is Evelyn Taylor and Nicholas Frampton. The California duo cast a spell of dreamy folk rock & psychedelic pop, delivering a timeless collection of songs with their debut Reverie State EP, and LP, Dark Matter Dreams. Taylor’s ethereal vocals are complimented by Frampton’s harmonies and superb guitar playing, with each taking the lead on a song à la Buckingham Nicks, their chemistry weaving a path through the music and on stage.
The recordings (featuring members of <a href="spotify:artist:4YsP5zmteLQ7etNjHAOu30" data-name="Midlake">Midlake</a>) create a dreamscape that showcases the depths of Taylor and Frampton as more than just singer-songwriters. Their debut LP, <a href="spotify:album:7ppFvYZDtSfWybKLtCPlOO" data-name="Dark Matter Dreams">Dark Matter Dreams</a> (2018), was released by UK label Bella Union, and supported artists like Erika Wennerstrom, and Josh Rouse on tours of the UK & Europe. In 2020 Field Division began releasing songs independently: “Black Velvet Skies,” a song offering peace in the midst of relentless modern disillusionment, a cover of George Harrison's “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)”, and “Star Where Are You,” an stellar meditation on loss. While the single, “Manifest," is foretelling of an LP to come, most recently, a cover of "Happy Together", with <a href="spotify:artist:5btUhGNTcEvv2W2NcsKndH" data-name="The Guest and the Host">The Guest and the Host</a>, is another song showcasing their enchanting arrangements which blend retro and modern sounds into melodic and cinematic soundscape.
