Off-center soul and post-disco revivalists Silk Rhodes features vocalist Sasha Desree and producer Michael Collins. The duo is from Baltimore, Maryland. Their first recorded appearance was on Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton, a compilation released to coincide with the 2014 <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Stones+Throw%22">Stones Throw</a> label documentary of the same title. "Face 2 Face," a plinking neo-boogie cut seemingly dusted off from a record warehouse abandoned in 1984, was perfectly placed between <a href="spotify:artist:1Bi4XLEzsbw5ilxli07KYS">Charizma</a> & <a href="spotify:artist:3KjYnDT3cEQ8ngiCLTCIl9">Peanut Butter Wolf</a>'s "Methods" and <a href="spotify:artist:4d53BMrRlQkrQMz5d59f2O">Mayer Hawthorne</a>'s "I Wish It Would Rain." A few months later, the song was issued as the A-side to a <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Stones+Throw%22">Stones Throw</a> 7" single backed by a sparse early-'70s-inspired ballad titled "Pains."
