Grammy award-winning producer/songwriter Jason 'JG' Gilbert got the nick name Scotch Bonnet (a spicy caribbean pepper) from friends in Los Angeles because of the spicy caribbean recipes he would cook up at the studio. JG kept the name when he decided to become a DJ tweaking it to Skorch Bun It. He later joined forces with his long time friend and popular caribbean DJ John 'Selecta Renegade' Watler to make Skorch Bun It a duo. The duo made a name for themselves after releasing the critically acclaimed "Pepper pot" mix tape. Together they have been creating a new wave of caribbean music and collaborating with some of the top names from the caribbean. "When you hear the signature siren you know it's us"~ JG
