Skuldpadda’s sextuplet double sister brother and best friend combo have roots so intertwined, it’s hard to find where one starts and the next one begins. Bunkered down in their studio in Sweden’s second city and musical capital, Gothenburg, they have been refining their brand of expansive and ambitious psychedelic indie-krautrock, with an added hint of post rock, shoegaze and just a dash of pop to keep it all interesting.
Debut EP Honeymoon released in 2017, was backed up with a series of well received gigs in Sweden and the UK and resulted in a hard earned and deserved reputation as a must see live act. After returning to Sweden they signed with respected Swedish indie label Kning Disk.
2019 saw debut album Little Islands released, a musical deep dive into the euphoria of closed groups. Little Islands, proved a hit with the listening public in New York, LA, San Francisco and Seattle as well as Sweden and the UK. Lead single I Found the Others was playlisted on national Swedish radio (P3) and the album received sparkling reviews across the board and planted them firmly on the Swedish musical map.
After the release of Little Islands SKULDPADDA returned to the studio, aiming to make the next stride forward for their upcoming sophomore album. With recent single Red Moon, SKULDPADDA are intent on showing you what they want in 2020... an unrestricted run at their version of catchy krautrock. Sounding retro, fresh and relevant all at once, they are the future of rock’s past.
