Inspired by everything good about funk and soul music, Smoke & Rain creates a unique blend of Novocastrian rock. Having been deeply moved by albums such as Stevie Wonder's 'Talking Book' and D'Angelo's 'Voodoo', the band is somewhat of a throwback. However, while deep diving into the study of groove, the songwriting still angles on timeless issues such as love, disillusionment, sobriety and belief.
Drawing performance comparisons from Band of Gypsies to Jeff Buckley, Smoke & Rain deliver an sublime, but almost surreal live show.
Moving forward in 2020, Smoke & Rain aim to continue recapturing and reimagining the sounds of Funk, Rock and RnB through a modern lens.
