So Savoeun is one of the leading singers of popular and traditional Cambodian music between the 1960s to 1970s. She joined the music industry in the mid of 1960s. After her marriage to one of the most famous songwriters and composers, Kem Em, So Savoeun's hits exploded in popularity. Ninety percent of her songs were written and composed by her husband. The rest of her music was written by legendary musicians including Sinn Sisamouth, Voy Ho, Mer Bun, Ma Lao Phy, and many more.

So Savoeun was raised in Kompong Speu province which is 50km from the capital city of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Presently, So Savoeun lives in France. She is 78 years old and occasionally performs in France and Cambodia.
