Spanish Gold are a soulful rock trio centered around former <a href="spotify:artist:5PFOoYivDdyFBYkDiku1E3">Hacienda</a> singer-guitarist Dante Schwebel. Formed in 2013 after Schwebel parted ways with <a href="spotify:artist:5PFOoYivDdyFBYkDiku1E3">Hacienda</a>, Spanish Gold initially began as a solo project. However, realizing he still wanted to work within a band concept, Schwebel recruited former high school classmate and <a href="spotify:artist:1EJ0KSMkpoQJHChu5AyTHE">Grupo Fantasma</a> guitarist <a href="spotify:artist:07YivsJVCrmhhjzBcBtMGv">Adrian Quesada</a>, as well as <a href="spotify:artist:43O3c6wewpzPKwVaGEEtBM">My Morning Jacket</a> drummer Patrick Hallahan. The trio then began working up Schwebel's material, recording tracks with producer Collin Dupuis (<a href="spotify:artist:7mnBLXK823vNxN3UWB7Gfz">the Black Keys</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0GZHuvmW6YXFTOxTx9qQ0I">Zoos of Berlin</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4mLJ3XfOM5FPjSAWdQ2Jk7">Dr. Dog</a>).
