Star Cassette is a synthawave act based in Stockholm, Sweden. The music genre is synthwave/retro wave/dream pop and best described as 80s influenced synth pop with big drums, synths and vocals. The nostaligic and retro feeling you will recognize from 80’s movies and TV shows like ”Back To The Future”, ”Blade Runner”, ”Miami Vice”, etc.
In the spring of 2019 they were contacted by a marketing company workring with the promo campaign for Stranger Things Season 3. They asked for a custom written song to use for the ”Stranger Things Nordic campaign”. The song ”Strangers”, inspired by ST season 3 was released in August 2019 and quickly gained a lot of interest.
Members
Celina – Lead vocals. Singer and songwriter, born in Stockholm 1985. Celina has previously worked as a professional dancer and choreographer in Sweden, touring with artists around the world, choreographing and dancing in music videos and on the biggest TV shows and stages around Sweden like ”The Globe Arena”, ”Melodifestivalen” (”Eurovision Song Contest”) and ”Sommarkrysset”.
Chris – Lead synths. Producer and songwriter, born in Stockholm 1980. Chris has been in the music industry for almost 20 years and have written over 20+ top-10 songs for the ’’Eurovision Song Contest’’ for various contries and the swedish ’’Melodifestivalen’’.
JT – Lead drums, born in Stockholm 1989. JT joined the group in 2019 as ”Strangers” was released and is now the band’s drummer. He is the drummer and no one cares about who he is.
