STARGAZER was founded in 1985 in Southern Germany. After signing a record deal with Munich-Maintown-Project, the production of the debut album "Back On The Street !" (released in 1988) took place in Munich. An extensive promotional tour followed which included numerous gigs far beyond the Southern German region. Soon after, part of the band went to L.A. to study at the Musicians Institute. During this time the band supported well-known bands such as Nazareth, Sinner and Extreme.
Back in Germany they worked on a new album "Commercial Gods" in which the influences and experiences of their USA stay flowed and was released in 1991. After some personnal changes work was done on a third album "Dinomania" (released in 1993), that featured mainly more modern sounds. After an extensive tour which went all over Germany and also included a support gig for "Halloween" in Switzerland, the songs from "Dinomania" were presented more and more often on small concert stages (similar to "unplugged" concerts). Especially the ballad "Friends" was very popular and is still very successful today.
The recent album "Dizzy Heights" presents itself exceptionally not in the hard rock/heavy metal garb but brings out completely new sides of this versatile band. After a long time the album "Dizzy Heights" was released in 2023.
Rumors are that STARGAZER are working on a new album in their usual hard rock style, which will be released in 2025 to celebrate their 40th anniversary. Stay tuned!
