Stepford Wives are one of the most critical new voices in alternative rock music, existing in the DIY underground as one of the UK's most thrilling bands. Their critical wit, intense stage presence and compelling blend of post-punk, art-rock and pop-punk sounds like nothing else around, and led to their 2020 debut ep 'All On Me' being championed by BBC Intro Manchester, Janice Long (RIP) on her BBC Wales show and an appearance on Sky Sports Soccer AM show.
If 'All On Me' introduced Jackson's soul-searching honesty, Stepford Wives forthcoming ep takes that to anthemic new ground. So Paranoid is the sound of pain and discovery in the fragility of life, love and the eternal search for meaning in the world, without grasping the answers. It is also swaggeringly catchy.
A maelstrom of emotions has defined Stepford Wives last two years. But, with this new ep, the band are stepping up and launching into an exciting future.
