Steven Lambke

Steven Lambke is a musician, songwriter, and creative worker in DIY arts organization and presentation currently based in Sackville, New Brunswick. He has performed, recorded and released eight albums of his own songs and music, four albums as a member of the Constantines, and two as vocalist and lyricist with the punk band Spider Bite. He has contributed to recordings and live performances by Julie Doiron, The Burning Hell, The Weather Station, By Divine Right, Caged Animals, and Carson McHone. In 2009 he and Daniel Romano co-founded the record label You’ve Changed Records, which Steven continues to run , overseeing the creation and international release of albums by Leanne Betasamosake Simpson, Status/Non-Status, Partner, Jon Mckiel and many others. In 2022 he composed and recorded the original score for Shary Boyle’s film The Trampled Devil which was installed at the Museum of Art and Design (New York, NY, 2023) in the exhibition Outside The Palace of Me. Friendship Traces, a surprising collaboration in instrumental electro/acoustic improvisation, composition, and home-studio creative processes created with Jimmie Kilpatrick will be released in June 2025. Friendship Traces is a post-dub, post-minimilist, post-guitar, post-mixtape playground of bespoke drum samples, melodica, and distorted bass.
