Stratus Fear was started by longtime friends, Chris Poole (Vocals, Guitar), Chris White (Drums), and Jordan Davis (Vocals, Guitar) right around the end of their time in high school. Many years later, Casey Simmons (Vocals, Rapping) and Dennis Dempsey (Bass, Vocals) were brought on board to complete the five-piece lineup that you see and hear today. Raised on classics like Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, Wu-Tang Clan, Steel Pulse, Rage Against the Machine, and The Notorious B.I.G., the band combines these influences to form a rap-infused reggae/rock sound that is all their own. Growing up just outside of Baltimore, one of the most notorious crime and drug-ridden cities in the country, the band members have watched close friends and loved ones go down some dark roads. However, there’s a reason it’s called Charm City and, at only a short drive away, the house parties and fun times of the winter easily migrated to the beaches for the summer. In their music, Stratus Fear chronicles the good times, the bad times, and all of the stories in between.
