Substaat is a Norwegian ebm-band based in Oslo, combining the punchy old-school-ebm and aggro with melodic and catchy vocal lines, formed by Jarle Hansen (synths and programming), Petter Norstrøm (synths and drums) and Terje Vangbo (vocals) in 2007.
2010 Substaat signed with the German record label: Danse Macabre Records and the debut album released February 2011. Autumn 2010 the band spent most of the time in studio with producer ALX, finishing the upcoming release. The album fuses Terje Vangbo's bright lyrics with Jarle Hansen and Petter Norstrøm ´s clean synths to generate a record brimming with ultra-catchy gems. The music of Substaat appeals to electro fans and non-electro fans alike. The band is known for its live performances filled with energy and catchy tunes.
Releases: "Substaat" (album) in 2011 and "Macht" (album) in 2014, and the ep`s/singles "Guilty Pleasure" "Refused" and "Elusive" with remixes from various cool bands.
Signed to Danse Macabre Records and Sub Culture Records.
