Summer Flake is a guitar-driven harmony-laden three-piece band based in Naarm/ Melbourne, lead by Steph Crase (Fair Maiden, Batrider) on vocals and guitar, with Joel Carey (Peak Twins, Wolf & Cub) on drums, and Perry Mahoney (Scott & Charlene's Wedding, The Shifters) on bass.
With four albums, four EPs and countless singles spanning a over decade, Crase has cultivated a passionate and loyal following crafting perfectly measured dream-pop indie-rock gems. Summer Flake reliably delivers emotive and idiosyncratic guitar riffs, hazy delicate vocals and masterful concise poetic lyricism, evoking both scuffed 90s underground rock and wistful nostalgic balladry.
Following 2023's Australian Music Prize nominated album 'One Less Thing', the band is gearing up for a special little release in 2024 via the always wonderful Rice Is Nice Records.
