Sunlight Ascending is a 6-piece instrumental rock band from Oakland County, Michigan formed in late 2006. The band is made up by James and Jeremy Schultz, as well as Trish Chisholm, Sean Reed, Andrew McIlwain, and most recently, Dennis Tuohey.
Their mix of Post-Rock, Shoegaze, and dreamlike ambience is comprised of droning melodies, and bombastic crescendos, where every live performance tends to be a unique emotional experience full of hidden layers and walls of noise that are purposefully pushed to the very limit.
