Swedish duo Superwalkers got their start in 2010 when two independent composers known only as "A" and "J" met in Stockholm's club scene and began trading ideas back and forth on their respective projects. Soon this relationship grew from offering feedback into a more fully realized collaboration, the duo solidifying with the release of their first single, "Not Like Us," released in 2014. The pair's decidedly retrofitted pop style took notes from the platinum-selling icons of '80s pop and updated the sound with an electronic flair more in line with contemporaries like <a href="spotify:artist:0SwO7SWeDHJijQ3XNS7xEE">MGMT</a> or <a href="spotify:artist:63MQldklfxkjYDoUE4Tppz">M83</a>. More singles followed as the years progressed, and Superwalkers landed management and label representation based on the warm response to their online tracks.
