Rapper Swami Baracus has been making music over the past decade and has received substantial airplay from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, BBC 1Xtra, Kiss 100 and BBC Asian Network. Baracus has performed at the UK Asian Music Awards press launch and was the winner of the Asian 8-Mile MC Battle contest, which took place at Notting Hill Arts Club. He was nominated for a BritAsia Award in 2011, for Best Urban Asian Act and has won three Bronze awards (Best Hip-Hop Act, Best Hip-Hop song and Best Cross-Genre) at the Bite My Music Global awards. He has performed at the T In The Park festival in Scotland, Reading and Leeds Festivals, and Freeze Festival at Battersea Power Station. His solo project ‘The Recipe Mixtape’ featuring collaborations with Sway, Nutty P, MysDiggi, Genesis Elijah and Byron Gold, was released to widespread critical acclaim. Recently, SB was featured on Tom Robinson’s comeback album ‘Only The Now’ alongside Sir Ian McKellan on the track ‘Holy Smoke’.
