Sweatshop(SWSH) was formed in 2007 Copenhagen, Denmark,
The group consist of the three members, Daniel Fridell(Keys and production), Jonas Rendbo(vocals), and Kuku Agami(Rap vocals)
Having worked together on different projects a collective need emerged for a set up that would allow us to be creative and express ourselves, without following any guidelines or set of rules, “a playground, where ideas could become songs in a heartbeat” as Jonas put it.
This playful approach has allowed us to tap into a rich and diverse musical background without letting the fog of the music industry cloud the creative process.
“When you hear the sound” is our third and latest release and you can clearly hear the different influences, genres playfully intertwining throughout the album, creating a colourful mash-up.
That same colourful and lively approach is also reflected on the album cover which is hand painted by Japanese Artist Tokio, who also painted the covers of our two previous releases, “The Get Away” EP(2011) and “Can we get hooked up” Album(2013)
“The Getaway” EP and “Can we get hooked up” Album both received a great deal of airplay on French National radio stations Nova, FIP as well as Swiss national radio station Couleur3.
